Since kids started celebrating Christmas with toys under the tree, futuristic gadgets have been hot items.

If you’re old enough to remember the Mr. Robot toy from the 1950s or the wind-up Space Robot from the 1960s you’ll understand why kids today are excited about the robots of 2016.

They’ve come a long long way from just talking.

The UBTECH Alpha 2 Robot (the company likes to call it a humanoid) has an HD camera, will dance, talk, teach and learn what a child enjoys.
It stands over a foot tall and can learn voices and faces. It’s 20 joints make movements human-like. It’s pretty remarkable but expensive. Its suggested retail price is $1,299 but demand is such we’ve only found them for sale online for $2,400.
